Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the UV Index app ("UV Index," "the app"). By downloading or using UV Index, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Medical Disclaimer.
1. What UV Index is
UV Index is an informational sun-awareness tool. It provides UV guidance, burn-risk estimates, lower-risk windows, a sun-session timer, exposure history, home-screen widgets, and reminders, based on your skin-type inputs and third-party UV and weather data.

2. No guarantee of accuracy or outcomes
UV and weather information is provided by third-party sources (including Open-Meteo) and may be delayed, estimated, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. Burn-risk estimates, timers, and lower-risk windows are approximations for general information only.
UV Index does not guarantee the prevention of sunburn, skin damage, or any health outcome, and does not promise "safe" sun exposure or "safe" tanning. You are solely responsible for your own sun-protection decisions, including the use of sunscreen, clothing, shade, and limiting time in the sun. When in doubt, follow the guidance of qualified professionals and official health authorities.
3. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- use UV Index only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes;
- not rely on UV Index as your sole basis for sun-exposure or health decisions;
- provide accurate setup information (your results depend on it); and
- not misuse, reverse engineer, or attempt to disrupt the app except as permitted by law.
4. Subscriptions and payments
UV Index offers auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock premium features.
- Billing. Purchases are made through the Apple App Store and processed by Apple. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trial (if offered). If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Managing and canceling. Apple handles payment, cancellation, and refunds. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID / App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Entitlements. Subscription status is managed using RevenueCat.
5. Intellectual property
UV Index, including its content, design, and software, is owned by Olishare LLC or its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works except as permitted by law.
6. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Olishare LLC and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from sunburn, skin damage, health outcomes, or reliance on UV, weather, or burn-risk information, arising out of or related to your use of UV Index. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
8. Changes to the app and Terms
We may modify or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using UV Index at any time.
10. Apple
These Terms are between you and Olishare LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. To the extent required by Apple's standard EULA terms, those terms also apply.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
